Recycling, reusing, and donating
With her expertise in technology and data, Sinem closely monitors the supply chain and connects brands, manufacturers, stores, and marketplaces to sell as many products as possible. Arkive is also developing certification for circularity and digital tools for more accurate sales forecasting. "Consumers can also order leftover products at a discount on the website. We recycle and reuse, but we also donate. This way, we try to help less fortunate people", she explained.
"I want to prevent unnecessary wastage and destruction of cosmetic products as much as possible." - Tuncer.-
No one wanted to listen
Finding the right contacts for Arkive wasn’t easy, and to this day Tuncer works hard to convey her message. After a long and almost hopeless search for someone who recognized her struggles and wanted to think along, Tuncer ended up at Versnellingshuis and The Green Brain.
"Versnellingshuis listened and thought along with me." Thanks in part to this help, Tuncer gave a presentation at a conference on reverse logistics, speaks at schools, and her case was presented to the Sustainable Young 100: a list of 100 young people with the most innovative and inspiring initiatives, ideas, and startups in the field of sustainability.
Message to sustainable entrepreneurs
Tuncer hopes that more sustainable entrepreneurs will focus on unnecessary wastage. "Changing only the packaging is not enough for a sustainable industry." She advises entrepreneurs to participate in the Circular Economy Week in early February and contact Versnellingshuis. "This movement was already slowly breaking through, but the topic is still susceptible. In 2022, this will certainly grow, and there will be more attention."
