Circular chemistry: discover the future

The Netherlands is an important chemical country. Companies such as AkzoNobel and LyondellBasell provide the building blocks for almost all the products we use every day. The sector is on the eve of a circular transition, in which fossil fuels are replaced as much as possible by materials extracted from CO2 waste. What will it take to realize this enormous operation? What new techniques are being developed and are they needed? And what complications do corporates and start-ups see in the chemical sector? With a surprising panel from the Groene Brein and the collective knowledge from the audience, we try to arrive at concrete answers during this event.

Het Groene Brein and Versnellingshuis are organizing an event on circular chemistry in collaboration with Sustainalab on Wednesday, February 7, 2023.

This event gives you a glimpse into the future; what will be possible in the field of circular chemistry and what opportunities does this offer for companies? We explore the possibilities to make the chemical industry less dependent on fossil resources. At the same time, we look at how innovative techniques can ensure that chemical products such as paint, shampoo or cleaning products can be applied in a sustainable way, without harmful effects on the environment.
